After the emotional tribute to the victims and emergency services involved in the rescue and extinguishing of the terrible fire in Campanar, Mestalla and our players faced Real Madrid with confidence and determination from the first moments of the match.
In a matter of just two minutes, Valencia CF took advantage of two chances to open the scoring and increase the advantage. Hugo Duro finished off a ball from Fran Pérez in the heart of the area and shortly after Yaremchuk, very quick, stole the ball from the rival defense, beat the goalkeeper and put the score 2-0 on the scoreboard to the delight of Mestalla.
The visiting team started to recover and in the last play of the first half, after five minutes of stoppage time, scored the 2-1 with a cross from the right wing to the far post.
After the dressing room, Real Madrid equalized in the 76th minute with a header from Vini Jr. Valencia CF lost Diakhaby, injured, who received a standing ovation from Mestalla as he was stretchered off in a final period in which there was a possible penalty on Hugo Duro that Gil Manzano did not signal after reviewing it in the VAR.
